Escrow Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
This Policy explains how CarryLink protects and releases delivery-related funds throughout the package workflow.
1. Purpose of this Policy
This Escrow Policy explains how CarryLink handles delivery funding, payment protection, platform fees, traveler payouts, cancellations, refunds, and payment release within the CarryLink delivery workflow.
It should be read together with the CarryLink Terms of Service and other policies that apply to use of the platform.
2. Funding a delivery
CarryLink may require the sender to fund the applicable delivery amount before a package proceeds through the delivery workflow. Payment processing is provided through supported payment services, including Stripe.
After successful processing, CarryLink records the applicable payment as funded within its escrow workflow. Funding a package does not by itself release payment to a traveler.
3. Reward, platform fee and insurance
CarryLink's current platform-fee calculation is 20% of the agreed traveler reward. The remaining 80% of that reward forms the traveler payout when the payment becomes eligible for release.
Any applicable insurance fee is handled separately from the reward-based platform-fee calculation. The amount funded for the delivery may therefore include the agreed reward plus an applicable insurance fee.
4. Funds during the delivery workflow
Funds are not released to the traveler merely because a package is posted, a traveler applies, a sender accepts an application, or the package enters transportation.
CarryLink uses delivery status, custody events, verification records, and other workflow information to determine whether the required delivery stages have been completed.
5. Recipient collection and release eligibility
Recipient collection does not itself release payment to the traveler. After the package has reached the destination Partner Location and the authorized recipient has completed the required collection process, the delivery can become eligible for the applicable payment-release process.
This separation between collection and payment release provides an additional control before funded escrow is released.
6. Payment release
The sender ordinarily authorizes release after the required delivery conditions have been satisfied. CarryLink also maintains an administrator-authorized override for appropriate platform administration.
When release is completed, CarryLink updates the funded payment record, records the platform fee and traveler payout, credits the traveler wallet, and advances the associated delivery records through the completed payment workflow.
CarryLink's workflow prevents the same funded payment from being released more than once.
7. Cancellation and refunds
A sender may cancel only while a package remains within a stage that CarryLink permits to be cancelled. Once transportation has progressed beyond the permitted cancellation point, sender cancellation may no longer be available.
If a funded package qualifies for cancellation, CarryLink attempts to refund the original payment before marking the package cancelled. If that refund cannot be completed, the package is not marked cancelled through that process until the payment issue is resolved.
8. Disputes and unreleased funds
An eligible sender or traveler may open a dispute before payment has been released. A dispute allows relevant evidence and delivery information to be reviewed before the payment workflow is concluded.
The existence of a dispute does not itself establish which party is entitled to a particular outcome. CarryLink may review the available delivery, custody, payment, communication, and evidence records when administering the dispute process.
9. Payment providers
CarryLink may rely on third-party payment providers, including Stripe, to process payments and refunds. CarryLink's escrow workflow records and controls the delivery-related payment state within the platform; this Policy does not represent that a third-party payment processor itself provides CarryLink's escrow service.
10. Changes to this Policy
CarryLink may update this Escrow Policy as payment features, platform operations, or applicable requirements change. The current version will display its latest update date.
